Hanlu Gong (b. 1998, China) has a BA in Photography from the Academy of Performing Arts of FAMU, Prague, Czech Republic. Currently, she is doing her MA in Paris at Istituto Marangoni where she specializes in Fashion Promotion, Communication & Media. Her main focus is fashion photography, as she spends her days capturing unique souls and making them immortal through her stunning photography style concentrating on models that have beautifully odd features. She also loves the mundane and the spontaneous and prefers to photograph daily routine rather than documenting major life events.

In ‘Fallen’ she explores the notion of the void and searches for meaning in the meaningless. Gong uses the medium of photography to get a glance and experience her life from a third perspective. Her black and white imagery has a strong diaristic quality, capturing Gong herself alongside her surroundings. These grainy snapshots allow us to encounter infatuation, pain and curiosity where the viewer is compelled to establish a connection with the artist, attach new meaning to the images and become part as well.

You can meet Gong's work and other 99 great photography talents on FRESH EYES book.
